The Attorney’s Real Estate Council of Broward County, Inc. (AREC)

Where Leading Real Estate Attorneys Connect,

Collaborate, and Advance the Profession

The Attorney’s Real Estate Council of Broward County, Inc. (“AREC”) was founded in 1993 by a distinguished group of attorneys who recognized the need for a dedicated, collegial forum for Broward County’s real estate legal community. From its inception, AREC has served as the premier organization for attorneys practicing in real estate and related disciplines, offering a trusted environment to exchange ideas, build professional relationships, and strengthen the integrity and excellence of real estate law practice in South Florida.

A Dynamic Network of Professionals

AREC’s membership represents the most experienced and respected real estate attorneys in Broward County, as well as attorneys in closely aligned practice areas—including title and escrow, development, construction, zoning and land use, environmental law, condominium and HOA law, probate and trust, finance, taxation, and corporate transactions.

Our Members are not competitors, they are collaborators, mentors, and referral partners. Within AREC’s unique professional network, members gain access to trusted peers, reliable co-counsel, business opportunities, and referrals that often extend well beyond real estate. The relationships formed in AREC routinely evolve into enduring friendships and alliances that strengthen each Member’s practice and professional reputation.

Membership Benefits that Deliver Real Value

Membership in AREC is more than an affiliation—it’s an investment in your professional success. Members enjoy a comprehensive package of benefits designed to enhance knowledge, reputation, and connections:

Complimentary CLE Credits: Through our partnership with the National Academy of Continuing Legal Education (NACLE), members receive up to 5 hours of free on-demand CLE annually, with additional live credit available at AREC meetings and events.

Supreme Court Admission Program: Members may participate in AREC’s organized admission to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, a prestigious credential reflecting excellence and professionalism.

Exceptional Networking Opportunities: AREC provides three formal dinner meetings each year, featuring leading speakers, engaging discussions, and an open bar, creating an atmosphere conducive to connection and camaraderie.

Access to Exclusive Sponsors: Members receive special consideration and benefits from AREC’s financial sponsors, many of whom offer valuable services and professional support within the real estate industry.

Annual Holiday Celebration: Each year, members gather for an elegant Holiday Party, offering a chance to celebrate the season and the profession with colleagues and friends.

Nominal Dues, Maximum Value: AREC’s annual dues are intentionally modest, covering all dinner meetings, open bars, and the holiday party—providing a level of return unmatched by any comparable professional organization.

Scholarship and Community Commitment

AREC is deeply committed to fostering the next generation of real estate professionals. Each year, AREC awards a scholarship to a third-year law student enrolled at a Florida law school who has demonstrated a sincere interest in practicing real estate law in Broward County. This initiative reflects AREC’s dedication to advancing professionalism and ensuring the continued vitality and excellence of the real estate bar.

A Culture of Excellence and Collegiality

AREC is guided by the belief that professional excellence thrives in an environment of respect, collaboration, and integrity. Members are united by a shared commitment to courteous advocacy, ethical practice, and mutual support. Within this culture, AREC has become a trusted space where attorneys can discuss complex issues, share best practices, and contribute to elevating the standards of the profession.

Membership Invitation

Membership in AREC is by invitation only, extended to attorneys who demonstrate distinction and commitment in real estate or related practice areas. Applicants must be sponsored by an existing Member and approved by the Board and Membership.

If you are a real estate or allied-practice attorney seeking to expand your professional reach, deepen your knowledge, and become part of a respected community of peers who support and celebrate one another, speak with an AREC Member about the organization.
